Please note: using the Streamster web app to multistream with OBS does not require installing Streamster software and consumes fewer processor resources in most cases. Learn more about using OBS with the Streamster web app.



OBS Studio is a powerful software for video recording and live streaming,  and it is well known among streamers. Despite it has many features, it is unable to stream to multiple platforms simultaneously. Please read the manual on how to combine OBS Studio and Streamster to split your OBS stream into multiple platforms.

There are two possible ways of using Streamster together with OBS: direct streaming and virtual camera.


1. Direct streaming to Streamster servers (available for registered users only).


  1. Download and install OBS Studio software: https://obsproject.com/download . If you already have OBS installed, make sure that your version is up to date.
  2. Run your OBS Studio and make all the necessary settings there.
  3. Open the Streamster app, go to the Settings menu, and click on Show Url/Key button  

4. In OBS click File - Settings and choose the Stream tab.


5. Copy Streamster Rtmp url field content to the Server field in OBS, and Rtmp key field content to the Stream Key field.


6. Press the Start Streaming button in OBS.



2. Using OBS virtual camera as a video source 


  1. Download and install OBS Studio software: https://obsproject.com/download . If you already have OBS installed, make sure that your version is up to date.
  2. Run your OBS Studio and make all the necessary settings there.
  3. Run your virtual camera in OBS by clicking Start Virtual Camera button.


4. Open Streamster software, click Add layer button


5. Choose Web camera as a video source


6.  Choose OBS Virtual Camera from the list of your video devices.



Besides the OBS Studio, Streamster is compatible with many other live video editors, splitters, and virtual cameras.



3. Using OBS virtual camera as the video and audio sources

 

  1. Download and install OBS Studio software: https://obsproject.com/download
  2. Download and install OBS Virtual Cam plugin: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/obs-virtualcam.949/download
  3. Run your OBS Studio and make all the necessary settings there. 
  4. Launch VirtalCam plugin in OBS

       

4. Open Streamster software, click Add layer button


5. Choose Web camera as a video source


6.  Choose OBS Virtual Camera from the list of your video devices.


7. Choose OBS-Audio as an audio device
